The IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) Crewman course is open to all members in good standing with the club who are 16 years or older and who hold a Surf Lifeguard Award with a valid Retest. Course dates will be advertised during the year and are only open at these times with a closing date (please liaise with the Head Instructor). Courses are over 3 to 4 days with a minimum of 20 hours of instruction.

Course registration and fee payment is required before the course start date. The course is only available to members of the Clifton Surf Lifesaving Club who are in good standing with the club.

The IRB Crewman course is an advanced lifeguard qualification that teaches candidates the skills required to operate as a rescue crewman as well as conduct basic operating procedures on an IRB. The IRB Crewpersons Module is the starting point for education in the IRB.
